DIGITAL ARTIST MAGAZINE

DIGITAL ARTIST MAGAZINE

If you manage to pick up a copy of Digital Artist magazine issue 20, you’ll undoubtedly stumble across a nice full page dedicated to me and my work. The piece talks about the styles I use and methods I apply when creating my wares. I won’t say too much as I’d much prefer you to go and buy the mag and feast on all the creative talent flowing through it’s pages!

I’ll leave you with the underlying idea behind the write up, collaboration is the key to driving design forward. We need to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and start to merge talent and skills – create new styles and design. After a recent D&AD lecture hosted by two ace guys from awesome agency DARE, their idea was to develop skills through sharing, by getting a print based designer to sit with a digital designer, to merge their skills and create new and interesting designs and styles. We are no longer given strict titles, we are all designers with an infinite toolbox at our disposal.

I’m always on the lookout for new projects and collaborations so don’t hesitate to give me a nudge here wave (at) james-oconnell.com and get me involved!

One last mention to thank @DA_April for allowing me the chance to be in the magazine, really appreciated and I hope to do more in the future!
